Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Malone met with hungary’s prime minister Victor Orban here in Rome this is part of oran’s Europe tour uh which already took him uh to Berlin and then Paris in the next few uh days as’s a way for Orban as well to meet with the leaders of some EU member states and inform them about the uh presidency program in fact uh the tour is taking place ahead of Hungary uh taking over the rotating presidency of the EU Council and speaking about the presidency program Georgia Malone at the very end of the meeting said that she’s glad that some of the issues that are included in the program are the issues that the two countries uh um care the most about including tackling illegal migration or strengthening uh Europe’s uh competitiveness and addressing declining birth rates across Europe she also said that there are other issues including Ukraine that the two countries share different views on but the timing of the meeting is quite crucial as it took place uh before this week’s EU Summit uh which will be crucial when it comes to debating uh EU top jobs Victor Orban um at the very end of the meeting thanked Maloney and highlighted the fact that he’s ruling out that his party will join the ECR political group in fact uh Georgia Malone is not only Italy’s Prime Minister but she’s also the president of the ECR uh political group um her party maintains uh uh its position as a leading party here in Italy following the European elections with the party expected to demand a top commission post for Italy George orandi for EUR news in Rome [Music]
