I’ve owned my E90 for 2 years now and I think that it sounds good with the stock setup. It does not need upgrades.
But the right upgrades make it definitely better.
The M Performance exhaust gives it a more exotic, hollow and metallic rasp that the previous M3’s delivered. Eisenmann for example gives it the more typical V8 noise.
Outside noises are cool, but on this car the most important is how it sounds inside the cabin. That’s the magic of this car.

I have owned my M3 e93 for the last 13 years, the M Performance is way better than stock, the camera mic does not pick up the hollow echo sound you get while driving around with M- Performance just amazing compared to stock especially with the roof down

OEM sounds way better.
The M-performance gives it a metallic, raspy sound that's unpleasant.

@0:47 you can hear the resonance echo in the muffler plating, the metallic "after sound".

Stock sounds way better than M performance and Eventuri
