Most cars cwrry over parts from previous generations and also part sharing. This is normal for car manufacturers.
Porsche did the same with the 993 (from rhe 964 etc ) .

Can you believe that car is faster on track than a M3 CS or M4 CS with less power than both of them? And those are amazing cars, yet the 996 turbo is 15-20years younger.
