So when the Robo taxi hits the streets, it will truly be a paradigm shift, and if you’re in a decision-making position at any of the legacy auto manufacturers like, GM, Ford, VW, Mercedes, Honda, Nissan, etc., you’re in a huddle with your team, asking the question after you say OMG, have we just got out played with this one, and what are we going to do about it?

So some folks are going to get fired at these legacy auto manufacturers, because they’re at a helluva disadvantage in trying to play catch-up with the greatest company on planet Earth, when it comes to innovation and leading edge technologies, as Tesla has got probably the most powerful computer in the world working night and day solving not just full self driving, but autonomously driven vehicles/robots of all kinds, that could actually figure stuff out, all on its own, and do it a lot quicker than any human given our limited abilities to replicate our best selves.

So full disclosure, I’m on my 2nd Tesla having traded in my 2018 Model 3 for a 2024 Model S with Hardware 4, and FSD supervised, and I’ve had FSD, Full Self Driving since the initial offer at 3K, watched it go to 15K, and now it’s settled back at 8K, with a $99 a month subscription option.

So I have been both amazed, and disappointed with how long it’s taken, and with all the over the air updates that I’ve had, it’s been somewhat of a painful ride, but at the same time, it’s been a fantastic ride when I think about what the car was able to do initially, and what it’s able to do today, and I can say it’s like night and day and, I simply cannot see buying a car that did not have this feature in it, as there’s just nothing like it, and it’s getting better and better, but we’re not there yet, as you still have to pay attention to what the car is doing at all times, because it still makes mistakes, but next year according to Elon, and we all know how his timelines are, but the plan is to release a version of FSD, that will be unsupervised, and if that happens, that’s gonna be a huge deal, particularly for those of us who has the software in our Tesla cars today.

So I am super excited to see if this happens, and to watch to see whether the competition gets eaten alive, or will they finally realize the seriousness of this threat to their very existence, and start pulling out all the stops to come up with a better version of an autonomously driven car, because that’s where Tesla is driving this technology too, and not just so you and I can drive our cars around, but to have the option to have our cars drive us autonomously anywhere, and everywhere at all times, and under all circumstances/conditions, and once it becomes fully autonomous, we won’t have to be in the car to have it go and do things that we want done like pick up our dry cleaning, pick up a grocery order, or drive a friend to a location or destination to visit a friend or a relative.
