This car has everything you need
I have a 2010 VE SS Series 2, with the L77 6 liter V8, it's been tuned and modified to make it more interesting, power up to 305kW at the wheels, or 500bhp at the flywheel.
Brakes were also easy to improve with a different set of brake pads, and even with standard rotors it might as well bave Brembos, it stops equally well.
I've had it on the race track too, and sure it was a little hot, but it never over heated and I could have gone around flat out for hours.
Top speed? I don't know…. I think it's still limited eletronically to 260km/h.
The last versions of the Comodore were available with the supercharged LSA engine from the Corvette. Holden's performance brand HSV built the Clubsport R8/Maloo with the 540hp LSA engine (which was available as a wagon and a ute) and had much better brakes and suspension. The ultimate Comodore however was the HSV GTS-R W1 with 636 hp version of the LSA and a suspension and braking package not too far removed from a V8 supercar. Today these are worth around $1 million AUD.
7:56 I can confirm that I say that at least 12-15 times a day
i dont think i have ever seen a holden in germany
That deceleration probably warped the brake rotors.
Awesome an Aussie car !!!!!
Big unga-bunga engine in an absolute boat of a chassis. The American/Aussie way. Has a charm to it lol. Love it.
Change cam exhaust and tune 500hp
American Engine
HELL YES! So buzzed to see a HOLDEN on this channel!
In this year? well my Mazda 6 2,3 station wagon 🙂 I know its just 2.3L with 122kw and 166Hp but that car is precise on the road. Is It fast? Nope…Is It fun? Yes, I loveI It 🙂 just for comparision, It has all you want, heated seats, Xenon lights, big space for family, nice big trunk, Bose soudn system and more for almost no money at all….But Its rusty thing and just u know – invested money never came back 🙂
Such A Brilliant Aussie Machine!!!!!
I am an Australian. This is a BOAT compared to Mercedes, BMW and Audi. The VF model was the best Holden had ever done. Gone now unfortunately.
It's a good car.
It sucks that GM killed all the brands that had interesting models (Oldsmobile, Saab, Pontiac, Hummer, and Holden).
Max, the VE Generation of the Holden Commodore didn't share anything with the Opel Insignia,.The later ZB Commodore, which was sold from 2028-2020 was basically a rebadged Opel Insignia, Opel hadn't sold a RWD 5 Series competitor since they killed the Omega in the early 2000's.
2:34 saying it became the Opel Insignia without doing further research is pretty lazy and spreading misinformation.
While it's true it was sold as a Chevrolet & Pontiac in various markets, this didn't include Opel, if they had sold it in Europe as a Omega, not an Insignia (As that replaced the Vectra).
You need to do the VF Commodore
Really stoked to see this given another go on the channel. These are highly modifiable cars. It seems as common to see modified Commodores as non-modified ones.
The 1978-2006/07 Commodores were based on an Opel. However they were not a straight out Opel. Holden Australia re-engineered them. The Opels were not strong enough for Australia. The Commodore body is a far stronger version.
The VE was introduced in 2006 and over lapped production with the previous VZ which continued along side the VE into mid 2007.
There were luxury models of these. The Calais and the long wheel base Caprice which was the chassis for the US cop cars.
I believe it was sold in uk under the vauxhall vxr8 name. So if you can import from there, probably less painful.
Wagons lik this deserve to be more popular here in Canada and the US instead of only huge pickup trucks. The VAST majority of people who buy pickup trucks could easily get by with a wagon.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The faster Australia Lady holden say🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
When see opel vectra insignia opc ???? 😁
Perfavore
Vorrei che portiate più auto australiane❤
Never seen or thought they did a wagon version like that
Finally a holden on the autobahn 🥵💪
so basicaly it's the opel vectra with v8
It's basically an Opel with V8. No need for fancy materials. Europeans manufacturers lack balls for these builds. In our reality, if you want V8, you must get full premium, luxury package.
Hell yeah!

In South Africa, these are known as the Chevrolet Lumina SS or SSV. The bakkie (pickup) variants, in particular, are quite popular and have been steadily appreciating in value.
Nice👍
Absolute Brilliant
Greetings from OZ 🙂
